PROF. RAGHVENDRA PRAPANNA

Prof. Raghvendra Prapanna is a seasoned academician and senior faculty member at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi, with over three decades of experience in education. Holding a Ph.D. from University of Delhi, his doctoral work, “Bhasha-Shikshan ka Shikshanshastriye evam Darshnik Jagat”, examines the pedagogical and philosophical aspects of language teaching. His research focuses on language pedagogy, gender studies, and inclusive education. He has authored three books, including Prathmik Shiksha main Vikendrikaran aur Jansehbhagita, and published 13 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has written extensively on diverse educational issues, published in leading national newspapers like Hindustan, Jansatta, Rashtriye Sahara and others reflecting his sustained engagement with contemporary debates in education and public discourse. He has published short stories and poems, in esteemed literary journals such as Hans, Naya Path, and Parinde.

Prof. Prapanna has presented papers at national and international conferences, including WCCES, China, and served as a resource person for workshops on inclusive education. He has guided M.Ed. dissertations and PhD thesis and contributed significantly to development of curriculum, syllabus, and educational materials for NCERT and SCERTs (Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar). His future plans involve developing a Teacher’s Manual to philosophize educational issues and address reductionist approaches in language teaching. Prof. Prapanna’s work reflects a commitment to advancing educational discourse through philosophical and sociological perspectives.

Prof. Vandana Gupta, a distinguished educator, has been shaping minds at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi, since 1992. With a Ph.D. in Science Education, her expertise lies in Chemistry Pedagogy, Integrated Science, and Environmental Education. Her academic journey is marked by excellence, holding a B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. in Chemistry, alongside B.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees from University of Delhi, where she clinched the top rank in B.Ed. Prof. Gupta’s scholarly contributions include 13 peer-reviewed papers and five authored books, alongside impactful work in curriculum design and teacher training. Her dedication extends to administrative leadership, student engagement through co-curricular initiatives, and professional growth via MOOCs and workshops. Honored with accolades from NCERT and Hindu Shiksha Samiti Nyas, she envisions creating an interdisciplinary resource hub to promote inclusive, democratic educational spaces.

Prof. Satveer Singh Barwal is an accomplished academic and administrator, serving as Professor and Bursar at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi. He holds a Ph.D. in Education, specializing in educational planning, contemporary education, and social science pedagogy, alongside M.A. degrees in History and Sociology. His expertise encompasses human rights education and historical research. As Deputy Coordinator at the Centre for Educational Communication, University of Delhi, he significantly advances educational initiatives. Prof. Barwal has guided four Ph.D. and four M.Phil./P.G. dissertations and reviewed the B.Ed. History pedagogy. A respected scholar, he has presented on higher education and human rights and served as a resource person for NCERT and SCERT workshops. Based in Delhi, he shapes academia through teaching, research, and leadership, fostering innovative educational and social science frameworks.

Dr. Vinod Kumar A is an Associate Professor at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi. He holds M.Com (University of Kerala), B.Ed., M.Ed. (RIE Mysore), SET (Commerce), NET (Education), and Ph.D. degrees. With a deep commitment to teacher education, he strives to nurture reflective and socially responsible educators. His scholarly contributions include several research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has presented papers at numerous academic conferences on themes such as inclusive education, digital learning, and educational innovation. He also undertakes important academic and administrative responsibilities, including serving as AISHE Nodal Officer and Equal Opportunity Cell Coordinator. Dr. Meenakshi Chawla joined Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi, in 2013. She holds a diverse and rich academic background, having completed her M.Ed. from the Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia in 2008, followed by an M.A. with specialization in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi in 2010. She went on to pursue her M.Phil. in Education from the Department of Education, University of Delhi in 2017, and has recently completed her Ph.D. in Education from Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia in 2025.

Dr. Chawla has been teaching in the University of Delhi since 2010, contributing to the field of teacher education with her commitment and insight. She has published papers in different UGC-CARE listed and Peer-Reviewed journals. She has presented several papers at national and international Seminars and Conferences. Her areas of academic interest include Sociology of Education, Assessment for Learning, Understanding Communication, Case-based pedagogy in teacher education and Policy perspective on Education.

Mr. Ashwini Kumar “Sukrat” is an innovative educator, writer, and academic currently serving as Assistant Professor (Education) on an ad-hoc basis at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi. With over 16 years of experience spanning school and teacher education, he combines expertise in Economics and Education with a strong awareness of the social contexts influencing learning. He began his career as a school teacher of Economics before transitioning into higher and teacher education.

He holds multiple degrees, including B.A., M.A. (Economics), M.Com. (Marketing), B.Ed., and M.Ed., and is UGC-NET qualified in both Education and Economics. His teaching philosophy emphasizes constructivist and humanistic principles, encouraging learners to build knowledge through experience, dialogue, and reflection. He has taught courses such as Pedagogy of Social Science and Economics, Assessment of Learning, Research Methodology, Inclusive Education, and Contemporary Indian Education.

His research interests focus on language in education, English-medium schooling, marketisation, social justice, and urban education. He has authored books and contributed to journals and newspapers. Abhishek Dubey is a dedicated teacher-educator and researcher currently serving as Assistant Professor (Guest) at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi. He is pursuing a PhD in Education from the University of Delhi and holds an M.A. (Education) from IGNOU, a B.Ed. from GGSIPU, and a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication. Dr. Amita Juliet Toppo is an accomplished educator and scholar with M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education from the Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi, alongside an MA in Political Science from Delhi University, with ongoing MA studies in Sociology at IGNOU. With over a decade of teaching experience, she has served as Assistant Professor at Central Institute of Education, Maharshi Valmiki College of Education and St. Lawrence College, specializing in Pedagogy of Political Science, Gender Studies, and Social Science Education. Dr. Toppo has published chapters in Bharati Publications and CSIR-NIScPR, and contributed to University of Delhi study materials. Her academic presentations span national seminars, and she has organized workshops, including “Films as a Pedagogic Tool” (2017). Her interests include theatre, art, and music.

Ayush Vikrant Raj is an Assistant Professor (Guest) at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Central Institute of Education (CIE), University of Delhi.  His doctoral research titled “Growing Up Children and Mica Mine in Koderma, Jharkhand” explores the intersection of childhood, labour, and education. He holds an M.Ed. (CIE, University of Delhi), M.Sc. in Physics (Ranchi University), and an integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. in Physics (Central University of Jharkhand). His teaching and research interests include Physics Pedagogy, ICT in Education, Educational Psychology, and School Leadership. He has qualified the UGC-NET in Education and CTET for both primary and elementary levels. His publications include research papers in reputed journals and book chapters on educational policy, positivism, and child labour, reflecting his engagement with critical issues in education and social justice.

Dr. Monika Pareek is an experienced faculty member currently serving as a Assistant Professor (Guest) at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, University of Delhi. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi, along with M.Phil., M.Ed., and dual Master’s degrees in Hindi and Sanskrit.  

Her professional journey spans over a decade, including significant teaching and research experience at institutions such as Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, Haridwar; Gurukul Mahavidyalay, Haridwar; S.C.E.R.T., New Delhi; and Darshan Institute of Education and Research, Rohtak.

Dr. Pareek’s scholarly contributions include several research publications in reputed Sanskrit and education journals, with works focusing on themes like Mahila Shiksha, Sanskrit Vangmaya, and Rashtriya Shiksha Niti 2020. She has also authored multiple chapters for the School of Open Learning, University of Delhi. A gold medallist and academic topper, she continues to engage in advancing value-based and culturally rooted educational discourse.

Ms. Jyoti Arora Khanna is an accomplished educator and researcher specializing in education policy, leadership, and economics. She holds an M.Ed. from the University of Delhi (with University Gold Medal), an M.Phil. from the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Her teaching experience spans roles as Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) at Maharshi Valmiki College of Education and Ambedkar University Delhi since 2024, focusing on pedagogy, school leadership, and educational perspective.

Dr. Jyoti's publications include chapters in Routledge and Open Book Publishers, and articles in journals like Indian Journal of Public Administration. She has presented at international conferences, including CESI and CGHE, Oxford. Awards include the Australia India Research Students Fellowship, UGC-NET JRF/SRF, and CTET certification.

Active in academic collaborations with NCERT and SCERT, she contributes to resource development and workshops. Her community outreach includes panel discussions and volunteering with Youth for Seva.
